Bob Harkey Original Race Used Gold Leaf USAC National Champion Helmet And Goggles
Race-used helmet and goggles worn by American racer Bob Harkey while driving in IndyCar in the 1960s.
Bob Harkey was a driver in the USAC Championship Car series from Charlotte, North Carolina. He raced in the 1963–1979 seasons, with 85 career starts, including the Indianapolis 500 in 1964, 1971 and 1973–1976. He finished in the top ten 23 times, with his best finish in 4th position in 1964 at Trenton.
This helmet is a fantastic looking Bell helmet with Harkey’s famous Gold Leaf paint design. Harkey did a lot of driving in the movie “Winning” which was shot at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and included famous actor Paul Newman.
For many years, Harkey, worked with Champion Spark Plug’s safety program.
