1973/74 AJ Foyt Race Used USAC Gilmore Racing IndyCar/Champ DirtCar Suit
A great vintage Hinchman racing suit from a Legend of American motor racing, A.J. Foyt. ‘Super Tex’ is the only driver in history to win the Indianapolis 500 (four times), the Daytona 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring as well as scoring many USAC championship titles.
This suit was used by the great man himself during the 1973 USAC season and then into the 1974 season. Foyt is photo matched wearing this suit at the 1973 Hoosier Hundred at the Indianapolis State Fair Ground track. In 1974 Foyt could also be seen in the suit on other occasions including at the California 500, where he won the first qualifying heat and then went on to score the pole for the main race.
