1990 Derek Daly Signed Race Used Le Mans 24 Hr / IMSA Win Nissan Suit + Track Test Series Helmet
Original Simpson helmet race used by Derek Daly in 1990 at Le Mans 24 Hour race with the Nissan team. Daly also raced with this helmet in America during the IMSA season and that years Daytona 24 hours with the Nissan team. Daly won 4 races in IMSA in 1990 partnering with Geoff Brabham including Road Atlanta, Palm Beach, Mid Ohio and also the famous Sebring 12 hours. This lot also comes with his signed race used Nissan IMSA suit.
In 1994, Daly did the “Derek Daly Track Test” magazine series. This test went to 17 countries in 12 different languages. One of the track test was in Al Unser Jr’s championship winning Penske Indycar. Another of the tests saw him travel to the Magny-Cours circuit in France to test the Ligier Mugen Honda JS41 and compared it to his test in the Tasman Reynard Honda IndyCar he tested at the Mid Ohio Sports Car course in Lexington, Ohio. Daly used this exact helmet in many of these famous race cars.
The helmet and suit have been signed by Daly and comes from his personal collection. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
