1998 Jacques Villeneuve Original Worn + Playboy Cover Bell Dominator Williams F1 Helmet
This Bell Dominator helmet was one of the first helmets Jacques Villeneuve wore for the 1998 F1 season. The helmet was also featured on the September 1998 cover of Playboy magazine which included a story on the 1997 F1 World Champion. The helmet would go through several transformations in sponsors’ logos during the year, depending on where the helmet was being used and if the event allowed tobacco sponsorship. The helmet features all the usual JV touches… taped-off air vents, extra foam around the eye ports, all in an effort to reduce airflow in the helmet and to prevent any debris from ending up in the contact lenses he wore. The radio is still attached and the rest of the helmet shows nice race wear as evidenced by the various rock chips found on it.
This helmet comes from Villeneuve’s personal collection and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
A rare copy of the Playboy Magazine in which it appeared is also included.
