2006 Michael Schumacher Bahrain GP Used Scuderia Ferrari F1 Suit
Michael Schumacher wore this OMP suit during qualifying at the 2006 Bahrain GP, where he put the car on pole. It would be his 65th pole position, equaling Ayrton Senna’s record that had stood unmatched for 12 years. Notably, this was also the first qualifying session with the new rules for 2006, in which the one-hour qualifying session is split into three ‘knock out’ rounds.
It was Schumacher’s first pole since 2005’s Hungarian Grand Prix – coincidentally his only pole for the 2005 season.
“It has been too long ago. Too much time ago,” Schumacher said. “To be on front row and be so competitive is a nice surprise, particularly if you can imagine what happened last year. “When you have had such a story of success usually there is a downtrend and to move it back up to an uptrend is probably most difficult to achieve. It gives us extra motivation to keep on going.”
Schumacher would finish his stay at Ferrari earning 3 more pole positions during the 2006 season, for a career total of 68 poles, a record at that time.
This is a great opportunity to acquire one of the 7-time World Champion’s rare, and highly sought after, Ferrari Marlboro race suits. With the added feature that it was used in his last season with the Scuderia, as well as being his last season in the sport before his surprise return with Mercedes in 2010, makes this suit highly collectable.
The suit comes a Certificate Of Authenticity.
