Ron Burton Mercedes at Indianapolis Motor Speedway Original F1 Artwork
Original ‘Mercedes at Indy’ Artwork by renowned Indianapolis motorsport artist Ron Burton.
This huge abstract style oil on canvas image (5ft x 4 ft) was composed by Ron Burton to celebrate Mercedes first and last official wins (to date) at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The composition has to its forefront Mercedes last winner Mika Häkkinen, piloting his West McLaren Mercedes MP4-16 to victory in the 2001 US Gran Prix. It was to be Häkkinen’s final career Grand Prix victory. Above and little into the background is the first Mercedes to win the Indy 500 in 1915. Driven by Ralph DePalma, the 4.5 litre GP car Mercedes “Gray Ghost,” car led most of the 200 mile race but mechanical problems saw DePalma having to nurse his ailing machine for two laps to the chequered flag. These two images are on a black and white quartered background that has the Mercedes three-pointed star and the Indianapolis Winged Wheel overlaid. It comes framed in a black gloss metal frame
This is an awesome piece and would look fantastic in any collection. We also have the matching ‘Ferrari at Indy’ artwork in our inventory. Please see our other listings.
